Hello and welcome to the We Create Blog Hop for May. This is my first time hopping with this awesome group of talented ladies. This month’s theme is Technique Toss-up!
If you are starting with me or came from Tricia‘s blog – I hope you are inspired by all the technique’s shown.
My technique toss-up is using the Stampin’ Blends with Isopropyl Alcohol.
I have recently learned about this technique and it is fun to do. All you need is some Vellum Card stock, (or Glossy paper), Stampin’ Blends, paint brush and Isopropyl Alcohol (90% or higher).
The Stampin’ Blends that I used are Dark Pale Papaya, Dark Polished Pink, and Dart Mint Macaron.

I used Vellum Card stock that measured 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and “colored / scribble it with the Stampin’ Blends using the brush end.

Now you want to “dab” on the Isopropyl Alcohol with the paint brush. Suggest you do this in a good ventilated room. I started with Pale Papaya, then Polished Pink and finally Mint Macaron – wiping my paint brush off on a paper towel between colors. It won’t take long to dry but if your impatient like me, use your heat tool to dry it. Isn’t this beautiful.

I decided to add some of the Gilded Leafing and it turned out nice. What do you think?

I made two cards – One in Polished Pink and one in Pale Papaya. I cut down the vellum to 4 x 5 3/8 and then cut it in half. Embossed a panel in each color with the Painted Texture 3D Embossing folder.
To adhere the vellum to cardstock – I put a small amount of Multi-purpose liquid glue on my silicone mat and used a sponge to apply the glue to the back of the vellum card stock.
The sentiment and die cut is from the Tasteful Touches Stamp set and Tasteful Label Dies.

The sentiment and die cut is form the In Bloom Stamp set and Pierced Blooms Dies.

I hope I inspired you to try this technique. I know I will be doing more of it. To continue along on the blog hop, click on the image below to see Jeanna’s technique or click on the blog roll listed below.

Can’t wait to see what you create.
Now that is a nifty technique that I’ll have to try! Makes for a pretty background!
It is so much fun to do Libby
Wow, that is gorgeous! Great color combo and beautiful use of your lovely DP! 🙂
Thank you Tanya
LOVE those colors together – what an amazing background, especially with that gold leafing! I’m gonna have to keep that vellum out on my desk and give this a shot…I’ll just have to make sure my kitty isn’t in my craft room while I’m doing it. She does NOT like stinky fumes. Thanks for sharing this technique with us 😀
Thank you Kimberley.
