Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I am hopping with the Stamping with Friends Blog Hop group. We are a group of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from around the world share our love for paper crafting. It’s the first Saturday of the month so it’s a technique blog hop. We are showcasing the Fracture / Shutter card technique.
For this technique, I made a card using the Garden Walk Designer Series Paper.
The two colors I used today are Poppy Parade and Pretty Peacock. The sentiment used is from the So Sincere Cling Stamp Set.
I die-cut a piece of Wild Wheat and Basic White card stock using the squares of the Stylish Shapes Dies. Using Tuxedo Black Ink, I stamped the sentiment of the Basic White die-cut and then adhered this to the Wild Wheat card stock.
I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the triangle panel onto a 4 x 5 1/4 inch piece of Basic White cardstock. Doesn’t have to be perfect – I just eyeballed it. I then began to adhere Poppy Parade card stock strips around the triangle. Flipping it over, I cut off the excess strips.
Once that was all done, I began to add the designer series paper starting in the left-hand corner. Really doesn’t matter where you begin. I didn’t cut down the designer series paper prior to adhering it, I left it in its original size of 6 x 6. This way I just maneuvered it around to fit it in the other sections.
I adhered the finished panel to Pretty Peacock card stock and adhered to the Poppy Parade card base.
This is a card I made a few months ago. I made it a totally different way – doing extra die-cutting. I do prefer the technique I used today a lot better.
I do hope you are inspired to make your own Fracture / Shutter card. To see what my fellow Design Team members have created, click on the “next blog” and follow along.
