Hello and welcome to Stamping with Friend’s first blog hop of the year. First I want to thank my good friend Mickey Moore of 2MooreStampers for her fantastic job on our new blog banner. So glad you can join the talented Design Team members and me today. Starting today, the first Saturday of the month blog hop will be all about techniques. The technique for today’s hop is emboss resist.
The stamp set I am using today is called Celebrate Sunflowers. Love this stamp set – I mean I do have sunflowers in my logo.

I haven’t done this technique a lot and while I was creating my card I thought this would be the last time I would do it.
For my card, I blended three colors together – Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, and Cajun Craze. I’m not going to say how many times I attempted to blend these colors together for me to say – Yep that’s the one.

To do the Emboss Resist technique, I started by stamping the sunflower images in Versamark ink onto Basic White cardstock. I covered all the images in White Embossing Powder and used my heat gun to heat up the powder.
Using my blending brushes (had to brush the dust off of them…lol), I started blending Crush Curry first, then Pumpkin Pie, and finally Cajun Craze. Once I was happy with the result (after many tries), I used a piece of paper towel to wipe off the excess.

I adhered the panel to Cajun Craze card stock and then onto the Crushed Curry card base. The sentiment is from the Charming Sentiments stamp set. Stamped it onto Basic White card stock and used a die from the new Something Fancy Die set to die-cut it. Popped it up using Stampin’ Dimensionals. And of course, one must add bling – added three Rhinestone Basic Jewels.
I do hope I have encouraged you to try this emboss-resist technique. So to continue along the blog hop, click on the next button to see what the Design Team member Candi has made.
