Hello and welcome to the Stamping with Friends Blog Hop. What makes this blog hop special, is that we have a guest designer hopping with us today, Twila Davis of Stamp A Little Longer. We are so happy to have her here. The Design Team and I will be showcasing 3D Christmas gifts that we can give to friends or family.
I made a Faux Book Treat Holder which can hold various items such as chocolate (of course), or a small gift, a pack of the hot cocoa mix with a small bag of mini marshmallows just to name a few. I watched Gloria Plunkett’s video (got my inspiration from her) and used Laura Stranks’ revised measurements (she made a reinforced box) to make my book treat holder. I will have both listed below.
For the base and the treat box, I used Evening Evergreen card stock and the Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper to decorate with. Soft Sea Foam was used for the Mattes.
I love how the Designer Series Paper makes this treat book pop.
I die cut the Basic White Card stock with one of the Scalloped dies from the Scallop Contour Dies.
Then stamped the sentiment from the Free As a Bird stamp set using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.
This sentiment is perfect for this project.
The Pansy is die-cut using Fresh Fressia, Blackberry Bliss, and Basic White Card Stock. It is popped up using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
For the “spine”, I used Blackberry Bliss Card Stock and embossed it with one of the Greenery Embossing Folder.
To keep the book closed, I used a small magnet that I bought at Amazon.
This will be a great gift to give especially to a bookworm or a teacher. Who do you think you can give it to?
To continue along the 3D Christmas Gifts blog hop, click on the image below to see what Twila has made. I know it will be awesome just as the rest of the projects are. Now please excuse me while I go make a few more treat books.
