Hello my friends and thank you for stopping by.
Today I want to share with you a technique called “Split Card Technique” (inspired by Jennifer McGuire). The Stamp set I used is the new Celebrate Sunflowers (from the 2020-21 Annual Catalog on page 13). The stamp set is also a part of the Flowers for Every Season Suite.
I started with a piece of Whisper White card stock that measured 8 x 5 1/4.
Next, I put a small dot at 4 inch (top and bottom – this is the half of the card stock).
Using the Memento Ink, I stamped the first Sunflower image in the middle of the page. Then using the masking technique, I stamped the sunflower on the top and bottom. For the leaves, I used the masking technique also.
To color the sunflower images, I used Light and Dark Soft Suede Stampin Blends for the disc florets. For the flowers, I used three Stampin Blends: Bronze to outline the flower petal (just a little), Dark Mango Melody and Light Daffodil Delight for the flowers.
The leaves were colored with the Light and Dark Old Olive Stampin Blends.
Once all the coloring was done, I cut the Whisper White card stock in half.
Now I have images for two cards.
For the left image, I used Basic Black for the panel and Daffodil Delight for the card base. The sentiment is from the stamp set Posted For you
For the right image, I used Basic Black for the panel and Daffodil Delight for the card base. The sentiment is from the stamp set Good Morning Magnolia and used the Label Me Fancy punch to punch it out.
This technique isn’t limited to just using stamps, you can also use die cuts.
I hope you will do this technique and share your cards here.
