Hello and welcome my friends to the Stamping with Friends Blog Hop. We are a group of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from around the world who love to share our passion for paper crafting. Today we will be showcasing projects using shapes as the focal point.
I chose an octagon shape and the Countryside Corners Dies are perfect.
My card uses the Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks from the September-December 2023 Mini Catalog, available starting September 6th. There are seven masks in the set – four to create a sunflower/leaves and three to create backgrounds. The colors I used are:
To create my card, I put temporary adhesive on the back of Basic White card stock to secure it on the grid paper. I used Post-It tape to keep all the masks in place. For easy alignment of the masks, there are notches on the upper-left-hand corner of each one.
The first mask is for the leaves of the sunflower. I used Fresh Fressia ink first and then went over it lightly with Blackberry Bliss ink.
The second mask is the leaves – I used Old Olive first and lightly used Garden Green ink.
The third mask is for the center of the sunflower and finally, the last and fourth mask is for the detailed center. I used Pecan Pie ink for the center and Copper Clay for the detailed center.
Once all the blending was done, I decided to make an eclipse card. To do this, I used two of the Countryside Corner Dies to create a frame. I adhered the large section to a Blackberry Bliss card stock by using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. To adhere the frame, I used Foam Adhesive strips to pop it up. Then I adhered the center part. The sentiment is from the So Sincere Cling Stamp Set (available September 6th).
The inside of my card and of course an envelope to match
I hope that you are inspired to use whatever shapes you have in your stash and create a beautiful card with them. Now to continue along the blog hop, click on “Next Blog” to see more creative ways to use shapes.
