Hello and welcome to the Stampin INKspirations June Blog Hop. If you are starting with me or just came from Vickie’s blog, I hope you will be inspired by all the awesome projects showcased today. Our theme for this month’s blog is Shades of Blue.
I used the stamp set Butterfly Brillance and Brilliant Wings Dies. And for my Shades of Blue, I used the Sun Prints Designer Series Paper. The coordinating colors are Gray Granite, Night of Navy, Pacific Point, and Starry Sky.
I saw a video from Jennifer McGuire Ink called Easy Instant Pop-Up and I wanted to try it. Click here to see her video. Now for my card.
This is the sheet of designer series paper from The Sun Prints pack that I choose for my butterflies. It looks like what a butterfly might look like in nature..what do you think?
For the butterflies, I die-cut them a total of four times using the large die. One in the Designer Series Paper and twice in Basic White Cardstock. The fourth time was in Vellum Cardstock after I stamped the butterfly image in Versamark ink and embossed it with White Embossing Powder. I then adhered the matching Basic White cardstock butterflies together and the DSP butterfly together using Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue.

I embossed the Basic White cardstock with the retired Tasteful Texture embossing folder. Adhered that to a Night of Navy panel. The cardbase is Thick Basic White cardstock. The sentiment is from the Expressions of Friendship Host stamp set (it is retiring soon). Oh..had to add some bling. Using the dark Night of Navy Stampin’ Blend, I colored the Pearl Basic Jewels.
I have some extra butterflies that I can use for other cards later on. Yes, the butterflies do lay flat when placed in an envelope (might need extra postage) and pop up when taken out.
