Hello my friends
I love making fancy fold cards, they challenge me to think out of the box of regular card making. Today’s fancy fold card is called a Joy Fold card. It’s like a card within a card.
About 10 years ago I got into card making thru my church and saw a picture of a Joy Fold card (didn’t know it was called that – I just liked it) . So I tried to CASE it (Copy And Share Everything) and thought I did a pretty good job. Good enough in fact that I sent it to a high school friend for her birthday.
This is the card that I sent to my friend – Oh my goodness what was I thinking?
Here is my new and improved card using the Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper. This paper is so beautiful you can even frame it.
The sentiment for my card is from the To A Wild Rose stamp set. It was embossed using the white embossing powder. You can see a tint of Old Olive in the sentiment – I forgot to clean the stamp before I inked it up with Versamark ink. But I love how it turned out.
Here’s the card measurements so you can make your own Joy Fold Card:
Card base – 8 1/2 x 4 1/4 scored at 5 1/2
Inside panel – 4 x 5 1/4 DSP 3 3/4 x 5
Outside Panel – 2 3/4 x 4 DSP 2 1/2 x 3 3/4
Flap – 8 x 3 scored at 4
Outside Panel – 2 3/4 x 3 3/4 DSP 2 1/2 x 3 1/2
Inside Panel – 2 3/4 x 3 3/4
