Sketch Double Challenge – Stamping INKspriations Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the first Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop of the year. I am so happy to be hopping with such talented people. For this blog hop, we were given a double challenge. A sketch double challenge – create a card using the sketch provided and add some glimmer or shine.

I decided to use the Playing in the Rain Bundle and the Rain or Shine Specialty Designer Series Paper for this challenge. The paper has a touch of a glossy coating on some designs, giving a realistic rain effect. When I saw this at Onstage in Pittsburgh, I just knew I would order it when I could.

From the pack of beautiful paper (I didn’t want to cut it up), I choose two sheets, the one with the turtle, the fox, and the happy-go-lucky bunny and the one with the field of flowers. The animal images can be die-cut using the dies….isn’t that awesome? I cut out all the shapes (haven’t used die-cut them yet) and for the small bunch of flowers, I used a retired circle punch and punched them out.

Now for my card, the card base is Thick Basic White. Using Multipurpose Glue, I adhered Mango Melody card stock to the base and the DSP. I cut another piece of designer series paper and adhered it to Old Olive card stock and adhered to the card base.

Using one of the dies from the Playing in the Rain dies, I die-cut the turtle. He is so cute and you can see the glossy coating on his shell. He is adhered to Balmy Blue card stock. I popped this panel up using Stampin Dimensionals. The sentiment is from the Through It Together stamp set.

For my bling, I used the Loose Daisy embellishments. These embellishments are flat and you can use a mini glue dot or a small amount of glue to adhere them to your project.
