Beautifully Penned - Share It Sunday August Blog Hop

I decided to play with the Beautifully Penned Designer Series Paper which goes well with the Hand-Penned Stamp set.

It has a watercolor look in various black tones, making it easy to use with any color or any style for your projects. Its neutral tones and designs also allow various coloring techniques with Stampin’ Blends, Water Painters, and more. So I made three cards using three different coloring techniques.

For all three of my cards, I cut the designer series paper into strips that measure 1 x 3 inches. I adhered the strips to Basic White card stock that measures 4 1/2 x 3 1/8. I then adhered this panel to the coordinating card stock color of the large flower. Basic Black was used for all three card bases.

I stamped the floral image three times on Basic White Thick Card stock in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and die cut each one out. Once the floral images were colored, I popped them up and the sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For my first card, I stamped and used Stampin’ Blends. I stamped the large flower image in Fresh Freesia (stamped off) and the small flower in Bumblebee (stamped off). I colored in the leaves and stem in Soft Succulent.

For my second card, I decided to use the Watercolor pencils that I haven’t used in a long time. The flowers are colored with the Balmy Blue pencil and the stem/leaves in Garden Green.

For my final card, I used Stampin’ Blends (which is my favorite medium for coloring). The large flower was colored with Flirty Flamingo and the small flower in Mango Melody, with the stem/leaves in Soft Succulent.
