Christmas in July - Ink Stamp Share July Blog Hop -

Hello and welcome to the Ink Stamp Share July Blog Hop. If you are starting with me and just came from Annette’s blog, I know you will be inspired by the awesome projects shown today. This month’s theme is Christmas in July.

I have always wondered how Christmas in July got started. With the help of Google, I learned it started 88 years ago on July 24th and 25th in 1933 at a girls’ camp called Keystone Camp in Brevard, North Carolina.

For my inspiration, I made a double-point card using new products that are in the upcoming July-December Mini Catalog (which goes live on August 3rd).

The hard part about a double-point card is choosing the designer series paper to use. In the double point fold, you need to create two triangular shapes that will become the card front. You can have two sizes of card bases. One that measures 5-1/2 x 4-1/4. With this size, you open and close the top and bottom triangular pieces.
The second card base is using a 4 1/4 x 11 piece of card stock and adhered the focal point to it – which is what I did.

The stamp set I used is called Sweet Little Stockings and it is so stinking cute.
Who wouldn’t love a cute dog, a loveable cat, and a guinea pig on a stocking?
Yes, I am partial to the cat.

I used Stampin’ Blends to color the cat, stocking, and the present. The colors used are Dark/Light Gray Granite, Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler, Pool Party, and Daffodil Delight.

I can’t wait for Christmas to come to give this card to someone. And it will be here soon enough.

Measurements:
Cherry Cobbler Card Stock: 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2 scrap for the Stitched Nested Label Die
Basic White Card Stock: 5 1/4 x 4 (need two of them: one for the inside and one for the outside) scrap for the Stitched Nested Label Die
Sweet Stockings Designer Series Paper: 3 x 4 (need 2) Score at 1 inch on the 4-inch side
