Hello and welcome to my blog. I am hopping today with some fantastic and creative friends from the Stamping with Friends Blog Hop group. This blog hop’s challenge is to showcase our favorite item from the Jul-Dec Mini Catalog. Now, who I ask can just pick one favorite thing? I know I can’t.
I choose the Christmas Scottie Bundle. Aren’t the Scottish Terriers cute? Don’t tell my cats I said that.
I know this set is based around Christmas, but I decided to make a birthday card.
My inspiration came from a Facebook group called CASE-ing Tuesday. Every Tuesday, the admin will post a sample from the current catalogs along with a sketch to re-create it. You can make it the same or put your own twist on it. The sketch I used is for the sample on page 161 of the Annual Catalog.
The designer series paper I used for my card is the Design a Daydream (host special). Isn’t it beautiful? Now onto my card.
Basic White Thick card stock is used for the card base. For two of the strips, I used Designer Series Paper and the other two are Daffodil Delight and Petal Pink card stock. The birthday sentiment is from the Pansy Patch stamp set.
The Scottish Terrier is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I highly suggest using your Stamparatus to stamp the Terrier so you can get a good stamped image. What’s a birthday card without balloons? So I stamped three balloons one each in Blackberry Bliss, Old Olive, and Daffodil Delight. The balloon stamp is from the Penguin Place stamp set and punched out with a retired balloon punch. All the balloons and the Terrier are popped up using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I hope you try the sketch using your Jul-Dec Mini favorite stamp set or suite. Now to continue along for more inspiration, click on the next button to see what Helen Jennings’s favorite item is. I know that you will love it.
