Hello and welcome. I have decided to challenge myself in doing a technique I haven’t done in a while—the Spotlight Technique Challenge.
The Spotlight Technique is a method for creating a focal point by highlighting a specific area of a stamped image. It is best if you use an outline stamp.
For my card, I used the Charming Day Cling Stamp set. This is an Online Exclusive, which means it won’t be in any catalogs. This stamp set is part of the Floral Charm Suite Collection.

Here is my card. I’m not sure about you, but coloring is very relaxing for me. I need to do more of it.

The card base is Thick Whisper White. I first stamped the sentiment in the lower right-hand corner. This provided me with a guide on where to place the floral image. I stamped the large floral image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and used the 1 7/8 circle punch to punch out a part of the image. I colored the punched floral image in dark/light Petunia Pop Stampin’ Blends and the leaves in dark/light Old Olive Stampin’ Blends. I adhered this panel to Basic Black card stock.

Now, to assemble the card. I adhered a panel of Petunia Pop card stock to the card base. Then, the punched floral panel. I applied Stampin’ Dimensionals to the circle panel and lined it up with the floral image. Finally, added some bling.
I hope I have inspired you to create a Spotlight Technique card. To see all of July’s Online Exclusives, click on the image below.
