Die Embossing Technique – Stamping with Friends Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to my blog. I am hopping with the excellent Stamping with Friends design team. We are a group of Stampin’ Up demonstrators worldwide sharing our love of paper crafting with you. It’s the first Saturday of the month, so it’s a technique-themed blog hop. The theme is Die Embossing Technique.

Usually, you would use embossing folders to emboss your card stock but today we are using dies. This technique is pretty easy and fun to do. I did another card for a different blog hop, click here to check it out.

I choose to use the new Countryside Inn Suite Collection for my card.

I started stamping the Countryside Corners stamp in Night of Navy ink onto Boho Blue card stock.
Using the next largest die, I die-cut the stamped image.

To emboss with the dies, you will need to make a sandwich of the base plate, cutting plate, silicon mate, cardstock, die, and finally your second cutting plate. You might need to use a shim.

Look how beautiful the embossing looks around the images. Oh, I just love it.

I then embossed Night of Navy card stock with the Countryside Blooms Embossing Folder. I adhered this panel to Thick Basic White Card Stock.

Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, I popped up the embossed image and adhered it to the card base. The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the Nothing Fancy stamp set and stamped in Night of Navy ink. The sentiment also popped up. I added some bling from 2023-2025 In Color Dots
