Welcome to the Stamping with Friends blog hop. It’s the first Saturday of the month and that means it is a technique blog hop. The technique for this month that my friends and I will be sharing with you is the Pop-Up Card Technique.
I haven’t really done any cards using this technique. While I was trying to decide what style pop-up card to make, my friend and fellow Stampin’ Up demonstrator, Lavonne Schwendeman, created a few cards that she was inspired by Annette Elias from the Netherlands. Here’s Annette’s blog post.
So onto my card – Mossy Meadow is used for the card base and I adhered Mango Melody card stock to it. The Designer Series paper used is the Rain or Shine Speciality Designer Series Paper. I can’t enough of this paper – I love it.
Using the Playing in the Rain dies, I die-cut the cute turtle from the designer series paper. Also using the dies, I die-cut the bridge (Early Espresso), stump (Soft Suede), and two leaves (Mossy Meadow).
For the inside of my card – the Mango Melody card stock was adhered to the left side along with Basic White – a place to write your message.
One tip I did learn was when adhering the card stock/designer series paper strips – apply tear and tape on the edges, not on the whole thing. This way the mechanism can slide.
Die-cuts are from the Something Fancy dies. Sentiments are from the Beautifully Happy stamp set (free Sale-a-bration item).
