Hello and welcome to the August 2022 Stampin’ Dreams Blog Hop. So happy you have joined us. If you are starting with me or just came from Helen Jennings’ blog, I know you will be inspired by all the fabulous projects made today. The theme for this blog hop is Throwback Thursday – to re-create a card that we’ve made.
I found a picture of the one time I made a Double Dutch Fold Card. I think I was just getting into card making when I made this style of card. Pinterest and YouTube were my best friends (and still are).
Here’s my recreated card…I love it. What do you think? A great improvement I believe.
To create my card, I used the Cup of Tea Bundle and Tea Boutique Designer Series Paper.
I love this bundle and designer series paper. I can hear my Nana now saying “Care for a cuppa”?
The card base is Crushed Curry card stock and the panels are Starry Night.
I die-cut one cup in the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series paper. I got a little frustrated that what I was imagining of how it will look wasn’t working out with how it actually looked.
That ever happened to you?
So my good friend and fellow demo, Mickey Moore, suggested a second cup and angle them.
So I die-cut the Tahitian Tide Cup and angled it off the first cup.
Both cups are adhered to Basic White card stock. This gives the cups a little more stability.
The Sweet Sorbet cup is adhered to the panel while the Tahitian Tide cup is popped up using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The lemon is die-cut in Crushed Curry. For the slice die-cut, I darkened the card stock by applying Crushed Curry ink to it prior to die-cutting it.
And what’s a card without a little bling? I used 2022-2024 IN COLOR Matte Decorative Dots.
I do hope I inspired you to re-create one of your cards. To continue along our Throwback Thursday – Stampin’ Dreams Blog hop, click on the “next” button to see what Gez has created.
