Hello and welcome to my blog today. I am hopping with very talented demonstrators from the Stamping INKspirations blog hop group. November is the month for being thankful (well all the months are), so the theme for this month’s blog hop is Thankful for you.
I have always wanted to make a side step card but never got around to it. I went to YouTube to find a video on how to make one and came across one from Julie Davison. She calls it an easy side step card which is my type of card..lol.
What makes this card so easy you ask? There isn’t any all the cutting to make the “steps and the main focal point”.
Highland Heather was used for the card base. It measures 5 1/2 x 8 scored at 3, 6, and 7 inches, and the “Focal Point” measures 3 x 6 and is scored at 4 1/4.
The Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper was used for I think it made my thank you card bright and cheery.
Don’t you think?
The measurements for the DSP are:
2 3/4 x 5 1/4
3/4 x 5 1/4
2 3/4 x 4
Along with the Hand-Penned DSP, I also used the Hand-Penned stamp set for the floral image and sentiment. I stamped the flower in Tuxedo Memento Black Ink on Basic White Card Stock that measures 2 5/8 x 3 7/8. I was going to color it but I thought leaving it blank looks just fine. The sentiment is stamped on scrap Basic White Cardstock adhered to a scrap of Highland Heather.
On the Highland Heather that measures 3×6, I adhered the reverse side of the DSP and adhered the floral image, and popped up the sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I adhered this to the card base by having the bottom edges flushed. Then adhere the panel to the back.
For the inside, I adhered a strip of DSP that measures 1/2 x 5 1/4 to Basic White card stock.
I do I have inspired you to make this easy side step card. To continue along the blog hop, click on the Next image to see what Jill has made. I know you will love it.
