Hello and welcome to the Stamping with Friends Blog Hop. If you came from Polly’s blog or are starting with me, I know you will be inspired by the many projects showcased today. Blog hop theme is Favorite Sale-a-bration item. Out of all the Sale-a-bration items to choose from, how can you pick just one?
My Favorite Sale-a-bration item is the Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper. It is so adorable and free with a qualifying $50.00 order (before taxes and shipping).
You can pair the designer series paper with the Penguin Place Bundle.
I decided to make some Christmas Crackers. “Christmas crackers are a British tradition dating back to Victorian times when in the early 1850s, London confectioner Tom Smith started adding a motto to his sugared almond bon-bons which he sold wrapped in a twisted paper package. As many of his bon-bons were bought by men to give to women, many of the mottos were simple love poems.” I am originally from England and I remember my mom giving us kids these crackers. And when she moved back to England, she would send us some for Christmas…such memories.
I made four to fix in a box ( box inspired by Intatwyne Designs). The box is sturdy enough when made, but I decided to add some panels to the insides prior to folding the flaps over to give it more strength.
The first lid I made is from Fresh Freesia card stock with a window sheet added.
I made the tag using the Tailor Made Tags Dies.
The sentiment is from the Christmas to Remember stamp set which I stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.
I used the star stamp image from the Penguin Place stamp set and which is stamped in Fresh Freesia Ink.
The second lid is made from Window Sheets. It measures 8 1/2 x 9 1/4 scored at 1 5/ 8 all around. Burnish the score lines real good and remove each corner piece and miter the sides.
I added a bow that was made with the Glittered Organdy Ribbon. I also used this ribbon to close the Christmas Crackers.
I will be making more Christmas crackers for I have some craft fairs coming up. I will be adding some chocolate and maybe some candy canes (small ones of course).
I hope you are inspired by my project. Click on the image below to see what Tricia has made (I know it will be awesome).
