Hello and welcome to the Stamping with Friends blog hop. The theme for the blog hop is Sneak Peaks from the Aug – Dec Mini Catalog. We have some new people hopping with us today and I am so happy that they are here. I know you will be inspired by all the projects on the blog. For my Sneak Peak, I am showcasing the Tombstone Treat Box
I am not much into Halloween (you think I would with having a child born on that day), but when I saw the boxes, I just knew I had to have them. The boxes are part of the Cute Halloween Suite. The Cute Halloween Suite also includes the stamp set Cutest Halloween, Halloween Punch, Adhesive-Backed Sequins, Gingham Ribbon, and of course Designer Series Paper.
You get sixteen prepared layers (top and bottom) which will make eight boxes. Now they do look alike, but the top layer is slightly longer and wider than the bottom layer. Each layer comes with adhesive already on so all you need to do is fold on the score lines and assemble.
Now onto my project. I wanted the treats in the box to show, so I used a die-cut from the Hippo and Friends dies to cut the shape. FYI: don’t use a stitched style die to cut the shape (ask me how I know). When you use the die-cut white edges will show. To hid them, I used the Dark Gray Granite Stampin’ Blend. I then punched the ghost, cat, and pumpkin from the Cute Halloween DSP and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The sentiment is inked in VersaMark ink and embossed with White Embossing Powder. I adhered a window sheet that measures 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 on the inside with Mini Glue Dots in each corner.
The Tombstone box will hold at least10 Hersey Nuggets.
