Hello and welcome to the Stamping with Friends Blog Hop. We have some new friends blogging with us for the first time. The theme is – Slimline Card. “Slimline describes the look of the cards – they are tall and slender vertically or long and skinny horizontally”. I learned that there are also mini slimline cards, so I decided to make that style. My first slimline card (regular size) was made with the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set. Click here to see the post.
I was originally going to use the Plentiful Plants bundle but I changed my mind. I decided to use the Hand-Penned stamp set and I created a split-card.
I stamped the large floral stamp in Memento Tuxedo Ink on Basic White card stock that measures 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches. I made a mask to stamp the second image.
The flowers are stamped in Highland Heather, Daffodil Delight, Pale Papaya, and Blushing Bride. I stamped the leaves in Soft Succulent. The stamps are designed not to fill the image. The background dots are from the Quiet Meadow which was stamped in Fresh Freesia (using the stamp on – stamp off method). Once all the stamping was completed, I cut in half.
I used Highland Heather card stock as the card base for my first card.
The sentiments on both cards are from the Many Messages stamp set.
The envelope is from the Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper (on sale for 15% off).
Measurements for the envelope:
7 1/4 x 7 3/8 – On the 7 1/4 side: score 2 and 5 1/4. On the 7 3/8 side: score 5/8 and 6 3/4.
Cut off the two rectangles (on top and bottom) and miter the center flap. Fold and burnish all score lines. Apply adhesive on one side and fold over other side. Apply adhesive to the bottom and fold up.
The card base for my second card is Pale Payaya. This time I put the flowers on the bottom of the card.
I hope I inspired you with my two mini slimline cards. Click on the image below to see Karen’s slimline card.
