Hello and welcome to the Stamping with Friends Blog Hop. We are a group of Stampin’ Up Demonstrators who love sharing our love of paper crafting with you. The theme of this blog is to use a Card Sketch and design it with a birthday in mind.
The card sketch I used is from My Favorite Things. Once I saw this sketch, I knew I wanted to use the Biggest Wish Stamp Set and the Pattern Party Designer Series Paper. Special Note on the Pattern Party DSP – it is a host product that is only available with Stampin’ Rewards (contact me for more information).
My first card, I used the stripe pattern from the DSP. Thick Basic White for the card base with a Poppy Parade panel.
Used two dies from the Stitched So Sweetly dies – one for Flirty Flamingo and Basic White. Stamped the “Happy” in Poppy Parade and “birthday” in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. Embossed the Poppy Parade strip with the Tasteful Texture 3D embossing folder.
Second card is in landscape orientation. Used Thick Basic White again for the card base but with a Pumpkin Pie Panel.
For the die cuts – used Crushed Curry and Basic White.
The ribbon is from the Flowers for Every Season Combo Pack. I used the Dark Pumpkin Pie Stampin Blends to color it.
I added some Resin Heart Embellishments (retiring soon) to the ribbon, which I thought it made it pop.
Who wouldn’t love getting these bright and cheery birthday cards in the mail?
Well I hope I inspired you today with my cards. To continue along the blog hop, please click on the image below to see what my friend, Tricia, has made with her card sketch.
